Community projects

We are the UK’s leading generator of renewable energy, owning and operating almost half of the UK’s total renewable generation capacity.

To help meet the UK’s legally binding targets for renewable energy, we are continuing to develop new wind, hydro, wave, tidal and biomass generation capacity. We recognise these developments can impact local communities, particularly during the construction phase, so it is our policy to establish a fund that benefits the communities that host our renewable generation projects.

We believe, wherever possible and with broad common-sense criteria, qualifying communities should be allowed to determine for themselves how their funds are used for amenities, educational, charitable or environmental purposes.
