Consent was granted for the scheme in September 2010 ad we anticipate that construction will start within twelve months. The scheme will consist of a new dam and storage reservoir at the head of Gleann Mhuire, a buried pipeline running down the glen adjacent to the existing estate access road and a semi-buried powerhouse with associated tailrace built next to the Abhainn na Glasa upstream of Kildermorie Lodge.
There is an existing micro hydroelectric scheme on the Estate which contributes to the electricity supplied and used by the Estate.
